Toby Clary, COCPA Chair

Congratulations to Toby Clary, a shareholder at Soukup, Bush & Associates, on his new role as the Board Chair for the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (COCPA). Toby’s three-year term includes serving as vice-chair in 2023, chairing the Society in 2024 as of May 1, 2024, and acting as immediate past chair in 2025, all while continuing his work at Soukup, Bush & Associates.

Toby Clary, CPA, Shareholder

Toby is deeply passionate about three things: his family (which includes his partner Jill, son Miles, daughter Magnolia, and dog Zoë), his bike collection, and the accounting profession.

A proud alumnus of Colorado State University, Toby has been a tax practitioner in Northern Colorado for over 20 years and takes great pride in his commitment to his clients.

Toby has been actively involved with the COCPA, serving in various roles such as member of the Board of Directors, trustee of the Educational Foundation, member of the Audit Committee, member of the CEO Search Committee, and instructor of continuing education on tax law for CPAs across the state of Colorado. His extensive knowledge of the COCPA’s operations will serve him well as he assumes his new role as chair of the organization.

As COCPA chair, Toby will work to confront the most pressing issues facing the CPA profession. He is especially eager to enhance the recruitment of potential accounting students, addressing the shortage of aspiring accountants. As an educator and member of the CSU Accounting Advisory Board, he is dedicated to conveying the value of the profession to these potential students by sharing his passion and experience in the field. The ultimate goal is to ensure the highest quality service for our clients by fostering the next generation of CPAs who will serve the community.

Toby does not take anything lightly when it comes to serving his clients and the accounting profession and this nomination is no exception. Soukup, Bush & Associates is confident in Toby’s abilities to impact the COCPA for the better and we look forward to seeing the improvements he will set into motion!

Congrats, Toby!
