Tax Due Dates

          The 2018 tax filing season is well underway, and some major tax deadlines are quickly approaching. In this newsletter we will briefly review some of the most important tax filing deadlinse in the 2019 calendar year. 

         Business Taxes:

  • March 15, 2019: deadline for calendar-year partnerships (Form 1065) and S corporations (Form 1120S). If you plan to extend your return, the extension form is due on this day.
  • March 15, 2019: deadline for Form 2553 (S corporation election)
  • April 1, 2019: Electronic filing deadline for 1099-MISC that does not have any amount in Box 7. Note that 1099-MISC forms with amounts in Box 7 were due January 31, 2019. The paper file deadline for Form 1099-MISC where no amount was reported in Box 7 was February 28, 2019.
  • April 15, 2019: deadline for calendar-year C corporations (Form 1120). If you plan to extend your return, the extension form is due on this day.
  • April 15, 2019: first installment of 2019 estimated tax due for calendar-year C corporation taxpayers
  • June 17, 2019: second installment of 2019 estimated tax due for calendar-year C corporation taxpayers
  • July 31, 2019: deadline for fiscal-year employee benefit plans (Form 5500). If you plan to extend the return, the extension form is due on this day.
  • September 16, 2019: deadline for extended calendar-year partnerships (1065) and S corporations (Form 1120S)
  • September 16, 2019: third installment of 2019 estimated tax due for calendar-year C corporation taxpayers
  • October 15, 2019: deadline for extended calendar-year C corporations (Form 1120)
  • December 16, 2019: fourth installment of 2019 estimated tax due for calendar-year C corporation taxpayers
         Individual Taxes:
  • April 15, 2019: deadline for individuals (Form 1040). If you plan to extend your return, the extension form is due on this day.
  • April 15, 2019: first installment of 2019 estimated tax due
  • April 15, 2019: contributions to an IRA included on a 2018 tax return must be made by this date.
  • June 17, 2019: second installment of 2019 estimated tax due
  • September 16, 2019: third installment of 2019 estimated tax due
  • October 15, 2019: deadline for extended individuals (Form 1040)
  • January 15, 2020: fourth installment of 2019 estimated tax due
Employee Spotlight - Erin D. Filmalter, CPA
Erin joined the firm in September 2018. Erin's primary disciplines include financial statement attestation in several industries including aerospace, software, mortgage lending, manufacturing, and professional services. Erin has experience in certain complex accounting issues such as business combinations, consolidations, and software revenue recognition. 

Prior to joining the firm, Erin spent six years at Montgomery Coscia Greilich, LLP (MCG), a regional full-service professional accounting firm located in Plano, Texas. At MCG, Erin was in charge of providing assurance services that included financial statement audits, financial statement reviews, employee benefit plan audits, opening/closing balance sheet audits for acquisitions, and various consulting and advisory projects.

Erin graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting in May 2011.
