Friday, December 21st, 2018

As of January 1st, 2019, the sales and use tax rate in Larimer County is changing. In this newsletter we will briefly review the change so that you can be prepared.

On the 2018 ballot, Larimer County voters approved a ¼ percent increase in the county sales tax rate to provide for mental health services in the county and to build a new behavioral health facility. The current rate of .55% will increase to .8%. The rate increase will be in effect from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2038.

After the change, the Larimer County sales and use taxes will fund the following programs:

  • Jail Operations: .15%
  • Fairgrounds (The Ranch): .15%
  • Behavioral Health: .25%
    Total: .8%
